Start with a seaplane flight over the Opera house and the Harbour Bridge. Visit the historic Rocks area and learn its early convict history. See Queen Victoria Building and Centrepoint Tower. Visit Oxford Street and Paddington with its ‘Terrace Style’ housing. Take the famous ‘Short Walk,’ known only to locals, from Tamarama to Bondi Beach. Return via Double Bay and Kings Cross.
DAY 4 : SYDNEY

Travel to Featherdale Wildlife Park and visit the Koala Sanctuary to pet koalas and kangaroos. See wombats, go-annas, kookaburras, and fairy penguins. Continue to Blue Mountains National Park, named because of the blue haze caused by light striking dust particles, moisture droplets and eucalyptus oil. See the ‘The Three Sisters,’Jamieson Valley, Mount Solitary and Katoomba Falls. Visit Leura and shop at Katoomba. (B)

DAY 6 : SYDNEY / MELBOURNE

Morning flight to Melbourne, a city of Victorian architecture, offering lush gardens and architectural brilliance. Highlights include Flagstaff Gardens, Royal Botanic Gardens and the Shrine of Remembrance. See Flinders Street Cathedral Station, St. Paul’s and St. Patrick’s Cathedrals, Parliament House, Princess Theatre and the State Library. Cross the Westgate Bridge to view Port Phillip Bay. Your dinner this evening is aboard the elegant and charming 1927 Colonial Tramcar. (B,D)
DAY 7 : MELBOURNE

Today explore the Yarra Valley, a wine-producing region nestled at the base of the Dandenong Range. Lunch and wine tasting. (B,L)
DAY 8 : AYERS ROCK
SAILS IN THE DESERT
Morning flight to Ayers Rock, which along with the Olgas dominates the barren landscape. These mountains are of great significance to the Aborigines. Explore Olga Gorge. This evening is the Sounds of Silence Dinner in the Outback. Sip champagne and listen to the haunting sounds of didgeridoo while watching a magnificent sunset over Katatjuta. An astronomer shows you the astronomical treats of the Southern sky. (B,D)
DAY 9 : CAIRNS / PALM COVE

Rise early for an incredible sunrise. Climb the 1100 foot summit of red-hued Ayers Rock, or visit waterholes of the Aboriginal landowners. Fly to Cairns, gateway to the Barrier Reef and the Cape York Peninsula. At Palm Cove are the elements of an idyllic tropical holiday – warm seas, water sports and miles of uncrowded beaches with a sweeping backdrop of rainforest mountains. Get ready for an idyllic stay! Day cruise aboard the catamaran ‘Ocean Spirit’ to Michaelmas Cay at the Outer Barrier Reef. Swim, snorkel, relax. From the semi-submersible or glass bottom boat, see the magical world of tropical waters. (B,L)
DAY 11 : PALM COVE

Morning 4X4 drive along the coast to Port Douglas and Mossman Gorge, part of the Daintree Rainforest. Swim in the pristine waters or walk in the rainforest. Travel to Alexander Range Lookout for lunch at a tropical fruit orchard. Enjoy the swimming hole or wander among the exotic trees. Stroll the coral sands at Cape Tribulation. See the Valley of Palms, a unique coastal rainforest, and Alexander Range with primitive King Ferns. Cross the Daintree River by Cable Barge and see the Coral Sea. Naturalist David Attenborough described the Daintree as “One of the most magical experiences of my life.” (B,L)
