Until recently Colombia was thought of as a no-go zone for tourists, but travellers are now realising what the locals have always known – Colombia is a gorgeous, friendly country with something for everyone. The main cities – Bogota, Medellin, and Cali – are surprisingly modern, and rich with cultural attractions. For thrill seekers there’s the 3-day jungle hike to the awe-inspiring pre-Columbian ruins of Cuidad Perdida is a must.
