DAY 1 : ARRIVE NAIROBI

Arrive Nairobi and transfer to your hotel.
DAY 2 : NAIROBI / MERU
OFFBEAT MERU CAMP
Take a scenic, private charter flight to Meru National Park, one of Kenya’s most magical parks away from the masses. The park is bisected by 13 rivers that flow towards the Tana River in the south and rise in the Nyambene Hills in the west. With an array of landscapes dominated by savannah, but including riverine forest and swamps, the Meru offers excellent game viewing opportunities of lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, black & white rhino, eland, gerenuk, beisa oryx, Grant’s gazelle, Grevy’s zebra, lesser kudu and reticulated giraffe as well as over 280 species of birds.
Spend 3 nights at the traditional Hemingway style luxury tented camp, situated just outside the park in Bisanandi National Reserve, and set above the pretty Bisanandi River. The camp itself comprises of six large tents, each furnished with a huge iron bed and en-suite bathroom with traditional bucket shower and flushing loo. There is 24-hour solar lighting in the tents, while the rest of the camp is lit by traditional tilly lamps. (B,L,D)

DAY 3-4 : MERU
OFFBEAT MERU CAMP
There is much to do from Meru Camp – day and evening game drives in fully equipped custom-designed Landrover’s/Landcruisers, short guided walks, fishing, traditional bush breakfasts and sundowners. Informal dining is hosted in the mess tent or around the stunning swimming pool. There is also a spacious living room with comfortable sofas, a writing table and a fully stocked bar to relax in between activities. (B,L,D)
DAY 5 : MERU / SOSIAN, LAIKIPIA
SOSIAN LODGE
This morning you will be collected from camp at 07h30 and transferred by road to Sosian Lodge. This is approximately a 6-hour drive (with packed breakfast) including a stop off at Nanyuki town for refreshments before arriving at Sosian in time for lunch. ‘Sosian’, the Samburu word for ‘Wild Date Palm’, combines the tame with the wild; ideal for those looking for a unique and intimate bush experience. The private 24,000-acre working ranch sits on the Laikipia plateau, 50 miles west of Mt. Kenya, offering pure wilderness, with more than 250 species of birdlife and an abundance of game species with four of the big five being found at Sosian Ranch, plus rare species such as Wild dogs, Jackson’s hartebeest and Grevy’s zebra.
Spend the next 3 nights at Sosian Lodge, a beautifully renovated, elegant 1940’s farmhouse comprising of seven double cottages. The house has a swimming pool, tennis court, billiard room, and organic vegetable garden, and is hosted by Steve and Annabelle Carey. (B,L,D)

DAY 6-7 : SOSIAN
SOSIAN LODGE
Sosian offers a huge range of activities including bush walking, horse-riding, camel safaris, game-drives, night-drives, fishing, archery, tennis, and swimming in the waterfalls behind the ranch house along the Euaso Narok River. Guests are also encouraged to participate in ranch life, such as dipping cattle. Optional tailor made walking safaris from Sosian Lodge can take you further off the beaten track, experiencing nature at is most raw, walking with a team of guides and trackers and sleeping under the stars in a basic fly camp. DAY 8 : SOSIAN / MASAI MARA
OFFBEAT MARA CAMP
This morning you will leave Sosian after breakfast and be driven to Loisaba or Nanyuki Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Masai Mara. On arrival you are met and driven to Offbeat Mara Camp, a 6-tent luxury semi-permanent camp situated on the Mara North Conservancy, and your home for the next 3 nights. Each tent has its own en-suite bathroom with hot bucket showers, wash basins and flush loos. The spacious tents are all furnished with large, hand made cedar beds, 24-hour solar lighting, and the finest linen.
This unspoiled part of Masailand is an area full of wildlife but far from any lodge. Offbeat Mara Camp employs and trains local Masai guides and works with the community employing many in the camp staff. The Mara offers amazing game viewing throughout the year and features the annual wildebeest migration in July – September. (B,L,D)

DAY 9-10 : MASAI MARA
OFFBEAT MARA CAMP
Informal dining is hosted in the mess tent or around the campfire. Delicious English breakfasts, lighter lunches, and three course dinners are served each evening. Guests can also relax in the bar and living room tent, which is furnished with comfortable sofas, a writing desk, library and fully stocked bar. By now you will be familiar with enjoying the bush breakfasts and sundowners provided by the Offbeat camps, but the day and night game drives are different in every location. Here at Offbeat Mara Camp, you will also have an opportunity to mix with the local Masai community – a very special experience, indeed! (B,L,D)
DAY 11 : MASAI MARA / NAIROBI / DEPART
NORFOLK HOTEL (DAYROOM)
After a final game drive this morning, take your scheduled flight back to Wilson Airport, Nairobi. Transfer to the Norfolk Hotel (dayroom). This afternoon visit Karen Blixen’s home and Giraffe Center. Evening departure flight home. Bon Voyage! (B)
