Arrive Nairobi and transfer to your hotel.
DAYS 3-5 : LAIKIPIA PLATEAU
LEWA DOWNS
Private charter flight to the Laikipia Plateau and the beautiful lodge at Lewa Downs, a private ranch comprised of 50,000 acres with a Rhino Sanctuary. Game walks, horseback expeditions, and 4X4 game drives are conducted by private guides. Horses are trained so even the novice rider may experience the thrill of riding side-by-side with a giraffe! Wildlife includes elephant, dik-dik, reticulated giraffe, eland, hartebeest, gerenuk, warthog, impala, gazelle, buffalo, bushbuck, zebra, lion, leopard and cheetah. (B,L,D)
DAYS 6-8 : MATHEWS MOUNTAIN RANGE
KITICH CAMP
Private charter flight to Kitich Camp, nestled in a verdant grove of fig trees, flowering shrubs and prehistoric Cycad palms, facing the Ngeng River. The six luxury tents feature verandahs and bathrooms with camp showers under the stars with true ‘running water’ – just ask and we will be happy to get it for you! The water is heated over a cedar deadwood fire. The people of the Mathews Range are the pastoral Samburu and Soyei. They call this area ‘Kitich – the place of happiness.’ In the pristine wilderness, guests take walks accompanied by expert guide and host, Giulio Bertolli, with more than 30 years experience in Africa. DAYS 9-10 : MUKOGODO
OL MALO
Private charter flight to Ol Malo, a 5,000 acre ranch. Ol Malo is a cliffside setting along the Uaso Nyiro River Valley. Ol Malo, meaning the place of the Greater Kudu, is the home of Colin and Rocky Francombe. Activities include picnics and sundowners in the bush, visits to a Samburu village, game drives and escorted walks (with or without camels).
Built of natural rock with a thatched roof, the main house is shaped by the rocks and the curve of ancient olive wood. The four guest cottages with verandahs are discreetly nestled between rocks on cliffs overlooking a water hole and salt lick surrounded by rugged bush and looming Mt. Kenya. DAYS 11-13 : THE MASAI MARA
REKERO TENTED CAMP
Scheduled flight to the scenic Masai Mara. Your hosts, Ron and Pauline Beaton, along with their eldest son Gerard and his wife Rainee, have lived in Kenya for years. Guests are accommodated in their elegant seasonal tented camp on the bank of the Talek River in the Mara Reserve, a prime game viewing country. Elephants frequently visit, splashing into the night.
